COVID-19 Guidelines

Welcome Back

 

We are very excited to be back open so we can continue to serve the community. However, there are several guidelines that had to be put into place in order to keep you and our staff safe and healthy. Please note, these guidelines and procedures are subject to change based on new regulations and updated guidance from local and state government. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Until further notice, our operating hours will consist of the following:

Monday - Friday: OPEN 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday: OPEN 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


 

Expect Reduced Capacity

Keep Your Distance Wiping Down Equipment
  • Members will scan their barcode to check in upon entering and scan their barcode to check out upon exit.
  • Respect all signs regarding social distancing and foot traffic direction.
  • Y staff will follow a strict cleaning and disinfecting schedule.
  • The building is restricted to 40% capacity with additional guidance to limit the number of people in one space. Please make sure the check the capacity on our homepage before coming into the facility.
  • Stay at least six feet away from others wherever possible.
  • Members will have access to cleaning materials.
  • Pool time MUST BE RESERVED in 30-minute increments. Pool access will be limited to one person per lane for a maximum of 30-minutes. Aqua aerobics will not be available when we first reopen.
  • Locker Rooms are not available for use until further notice. The shower on the Pool deck is available for use before getting in the pool.
  • Members must wipe down equipment before and after your workout.
  • Only active Cambridge Y members will be allowed to access the facility. All guests, Week Passes, Nationwide Members (members from other Ys), etc. are suspended until further notice. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Group Exercise will be by reservation only. No drop-ins allowed. Our full fitness schedule can be found HERE.
  • Allow yourself more time than usual to enter and exit the facility.
  • Some areas may be unavailable for use based on guidelines. For instance, our racquetball court, running track, and many of our studios are temporarily closed. Our basketball court will be used for group exercise and childcare use ONLY.
  • If you have items in your overnight locker that you wish to get, please see a Cambridge Y staff member for assistance.
  • In the fitness areas you will see a green/red color coded system to indicate what machines are clean and ready to use and what is not to be used.
         Green = OK to use. Red = unavailable to use.
  • The Yoga Studio will be used for Personal Training ONLY.
  • Some Cardio and other machines will be clearly marked out of use to maintain proper social distancing.
  • Our fitness floor staff will clean machines in-between uses.
  • Fitness Floor staff will be wearing easily recognized bright green STAFF t-shirts.
 
  • Y swim or workout accessories/equipment (yoga mats, swim paddles, etc.) will be very limited. We encourage you to bring your own.

 

 

Bring Your Mask Stay Home If You Are Sick Wash/Sanitize Your Hands
  • We are requiring members to wear their masks at all times when in the facility. The only exception will be swimmers in the water.
  • Our staff, members, and children participating in Child Care are encouraged to stay home if they're sick.
  • We are reducing touch points to reduce cross-contamination.
  • Staff will also be required to wear masks at all times.
  • Prior to entering the facility for the first time, you will be asked to sign an updated waiver of liability. Please sign this before you come in for easier access.
  • We are moving toward a paperless environment, therefore most forms you may have filled out in the past are either digital or have been eliminated altogether.
  • Children in our Child Care programs are required to follow guidance from EEC about masks.
  • Upon entering the facility for each shift, Y members and staff will get their temperature taken and be asked questions about their current health status and exposure to COVID-19.
  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Please do your best to limit the items you carry into the facility. We have added additional daily use lockers, but space is limited.
 
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.
  • Only touchless bottle filling stations are available.
 
  • Towel service is suspended until further notice. Please bring your own.
   

 

FAILURE TO COMPLY IS NOT AN OPTION.

We want to keep our doors open for as many members as possible. Doing so means taking safety seriously. Please note that any member who fails to comply with these guidelines may be asked to leave the facility. Thank you all so much for your cooperation!
