Refunds

The Cambridge YMCA does not issue any Membership refunds after three business days. In the event of injury or hospitalization, memberships can be frozen or extended. Please speak with the membership services director regarding these arrangements.

Financial Assistance

Limited funds are available to subsidize Basic Memberships for those who may not be able to afford YMCA membership.

Membership and Program

A membership is not transferable, and will be canceled if presented by anyone other than the person to whom it was issued. The Y reserves the right to change schedules or fees without notice. Anyone participating in any program must pre-register at the front desk. Membership privileges may be revoked or suspended for any behavior that jeopardizes the health and safety of YMCA staff, members, participants, facilities or equipment. The Y is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

Membership Payments

Annual and continuous monthly debit plans are available. Debit memberships continue indefinitely until terminated in writing by the member 30 days before the first of the month it is to be effective. The Y accepts checks and all major credit cards.

AWAY Program (Always Welcome at the Y)

Members of out of State Ys presenting a valid Y card bearing the AWAY imprint may use the basic facilities for $5 per visit. Fee for all other Y cardholders is $10.

My Y is Every Y

My Y is every Y has been extended to all the New England States.  Visit a Y in any of the New England States and sign up. It’s Free.  We allow unlimited visits.

GuestPass

A member may bring up to 2 guests per day and must accompany the guest. The daily fee is $15 for basic facilities.

Proper Attire

All YMCA members are required to wear proper attire while in the YMCA facility. Proper attire consists of: a tee-shirt, workout shorts or pants, and sneakers.

Safe Keep Your Valuables

While you workout, ensure that your valuables are safe. Small lockers are available at the front desk for use at no charge. Locks are provided.

YMCA Code of Conduct

The Cambridge YMCA is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all of our members and guests. To ensure safety and comfort for all, we ask individuals to act appropriately at all times while they are in our facility or while they participate in YMCA programs.

We expect persons using the YMCA to behave in a mature and responsible way and to respect the rights and dignity of others. Our Code of Conduct does not permit language or action that can hurt or frighten another person or falls below a generally accepted standard of conduct. Specifically, this includes:

  • Angry or vulgar language, including swearing, name calling and shouting;
  • Physical contact with another person in any angry or threatening way;
  • Any demonstration of sexual activity or sexual contact with another person;
  • Harassment or intimidation by: words, gestures, body language, or any other menacing behavior;
  • Behavior which intends to or results in the theft or destruction of property;
  • Carrying or concealing any weapons or devices which may be used as weapons;
  • The sale, possession, distribution, or use of any illegal substance (including alcohol) by an individual on YMCA property is prohibited and will constitute grounds for immediate termination and possible prosecution.

Members are encouraged to be responsible for their personal conduct and safety and to ask any person whose behavior threatens their personal comfort to refrain. Staff are trained and expected to respond to any reported violation of our Code of Conduct. Please do not hesitate to notify a staff person if you need assistance. We want to help.

The YMCA Management will investigate all reported incidents. Suspension or termination of YMCA membership privileges may result from any violation of the Code of Conduct.
