The CSBC is a training facility for learning the sport of boxing. We are available to men and women 13 years old and up. Members’ levels range from no experience at all, all the way up to professional. There is a general workout that one follows when training for boxing, and this workout is structured by a boxing timer. The timer runs three minutes rounds with a one minute break, this runs continuously all day. Boxers train with this clock as a way to properly condition their body for a boxing match, while members just training use it as a way to structure their workout. The general workout consists of warm up/stretching, jumping rope, shadow boxing, heavy bag work, speed bag, focus mitts with trainer, (sparring if desired), and cool down/stretching. Each of these exercises is three rounds each and is taught to you on the very first day. From this workout alone, one now knows enough to workout forever, but as one progresses in their training new elements/skills will be added if desired. If one wants to spar at some point, they will work with a trainer who will transition them to the necessary level. Not everyone decides to spar, and it is not frowned upon if one doesn’t. The CSBC teaches one the skills and training, and the member decides what they want to do with it. Some people may just want to hit the heavy bag without even using the timer, which is fine, but we teach each member the whole circuit so they know it in case they want to add more to their workout.
