Childrens Swim Lessons

Due to high demand, classes fill quickly. Therefore applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis. Please refer to the registration dates noted below for each session and be advised that full payment is required at time of registration. Financial Assistance is available.
 
 
Registration:   All Classes start Saturday, February 6th from 9:00a to 4:30p. Only Parent Child classes may start registration on Friday, February 5th at 9am.
 
8 Week Session Begins: Saturday, February 20th
February Break Lessons:  Monday to Friday, February 15th to 19th

Fee: Members $50 - Non-Members $80, financial assistance is available.
 
Parent/Infant  (Ages-6 to 24 months)  Parent and Child interactive lesson: This class focuses on swim adjustment and basic skills for water familiarization. Instructors use game and song to acclimate babies to the water.
 
Tuesday 9:30-10am, Friday 10:30-11am, Saturday 9-9:30am and 11-11:30am.
**Note: child must wear a water diaper for this class. You can purchase one from the front desk.
 
Parent/Toddler  (Ages-2yrs. - 4yrs.) This interactive parent and child class focuses on basic swimming mechanics and prepares young swimmers for independent lessons.
Friday 10-10:30, Saturday 8:30-9am, 10:30-11am.
 
Parent/Toddler Advanced (Ages 2-5)  This class will focus on a combination of water enjoyment and swimming skills, working towards safety and independence in the water. Swimmers should be comfortable going underwater and blowing bubbles. Staff approval required.
Friday 11-11:30am, Saturday 9:30-10am
 
Polliwog/Level 1 (Ages:4+)  Child independent lesson. This level trains young swimmers beginner stroke skills. Basic forms of the Freestyle and Backstroke are taught; swimmers are aided by instructors while performing skills.
Thursday 4:30-5pm, Friday 3:30-4pm, Saturday 10-10:30am, 11:30-12pm, 12-12:30pm, 1:30-2pm
 
Guppy/Level 2(Ages:4+)  Skills are reinforced and refined to ensure independence and comfort in the water. Prone and supine floating is practiced. Upon completion participants are able to swim for 15ft independently.
Wednesday 4:30-5pm, Thursday 4:30-5pm, Friday 4-4:30pm, Saturday 11:30-12pm, 12-12:30pm, 1:30-2p, 2-2:30pm
 
Minnow/Level 3(Ages 5+)  Swimmers refine the Freestyle and Backstroke. New skills such as underwater swimming are introduced. Upon completion participants are able to swim 20 yards independently. 
 
Tuesday 3:30-4:15pm Saturday 10-10:45am, 10:15-11am, 1:30-2:15pm
 
 
Fish/Level 4(Ages: 6+)  Freestyle and Backstroke are further refined.and the Breaststroke and Dolphin Kick are introduced. Upon completion participants are able to swim 80 yards using three different strokes. 
Tuesday 4:15-5pm, Saturday 11-11:45am, 2:15-3pm  

Flying Fish/Level 5 (Ages-7+)  Prerequisites-Students must be able to swim independently for 80 yards. Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke are refined and perfected using various drills. The elementary backstroke and Butterfly stroke are introduced as well as some fundamentals of competitive swimming.
Tuesday 4:15-5pm, Friday 6:30-7:15pm, Saturday 9:15-10am, 11:45-12:30pm

 
Shark/Level 6 (Ages-7+)  Prerequisites-Students must be able to swim independently for 160 yards consecutively Students are taught competitive strategies and advanced water training techniques to improve endurance and speed. The Butterfly Stroke is refined and perfected.
Saturday 11:45 -12:30pm
