Childrens Swim Classes Spring Session: April 14 – June 15Note: There will be no classes the weekend of May 24th, 25th, 26th (Memorial Day weekend) Registration: April 5th @ 9:00am (parent/infant classes) April 6th @ 9:00am (level/adult classes) Class Schedule (8 Lessons) Fees: Non Member -$80.00 Member -$50.00 ***To save time during registration, you can bring the necessary registration forms available from our website. Download YPP Registration Form (PDF) Parent/Infant (Ages-6 mos - 2yrs...) Focuses on swim adjustment and basic skills for water familiarization. Instructors use game and song to inspire young swimmers acclimation to water activities. Monday 10:00 -10:30am Saturday 8:30-9:00am, 12:00 -12:30pm Sunday 10:00 - 10:30am **Note: child must wear a water diaper for this class. You can purchase one from the front desk. Parent/Toddler (Ages-2yrs - 4yrs...) Parent and Child interactive lesson: This class focuses on basic swimming mechanics and prepares young swimmers for independent lessons. Friday 10:00-10:30am Saturday 9:00-9:30am, 9:45-10:15am Polliwog/Level 1 (Ages:4+) Child independent lesson. This level trains young swimmers beginner stroke skills. Basic forms of the Freestyle and Backstroke are taught; swimmers are aided by instructors while performing skills. Guppy/Level 2 (Ages:4+) Skills are reinforced and refined to ensure independent movement in the water. Prone and supine floating is perfected. Upon completion participants are able to swim for 10ft independently. Minnow/Level 3 (Ages 5+) Swimmers refine the Freestyle and Backstroke. New skills such as the elementary backstroke are introduced. Upon completion participants are able to swim 20 yards independently. Fish/Level 4 (Ages: 6+) Freestyle, Backstroke, Elementary Backstroke are further refined. Introduction to Breaststroke and Dolphin Kick. Upon completion participants are able to swim 75yds using three different strokes. Shark/Level 6 (Ages-7+) Prerequisites-Students must be able to swim independently for 150yds consecutively Students are taught competitive strategies and advanced water training techniques to improve Endurance and Speed.
